Singer-songwriter Sunday with Yves Giraud

If you’re just hanging out this rainy Sunday afternoon (at least that’s the case here in Lauderdale around 2:45 p.m.), consider tuning into local musician Yves Giraud’s new live internet telecast that airs at 6 p.m. Sundays. Each week, Giraud will interview a different local  musician from his own Studio M31 in Hollywood . Last week, it was local singer-songwriter Shawn Snyder, who discussed his “incredibly useful” religion degree from Harvard, traveling (and music scenes elsewhere); his mother’s death from skin cancer, his former and upcoming benefits for skin cancer awareness and his forthcoming album and departure for New York. He also played some of his songs including his former mantra, “Karma in a Can,” “Romantics Requiem” and a new song that he says may be his new mantra. I’m not sure what it’s called but I love it. Check out Giraud’s interview with Snyder at Studio M31’s channel on USTREAM.

Tune in at 6 p.m. for the live telecast of Giraud’s second Sunday program  at Studio M31 in Hollywood. Today’s featured guest is Rachel Faro, a singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and record producer who has produced more than 30 albums with artists including Sammy Figueroa, Yomo Toro, Eddie Palmieri and Los Van Van. The show, sponsored by Chrystal Hartigan Presents, will include three live performances by Faro. You can preview Faro here in Gingerman309’s recent video of her performance at Chrystal Hartigan’s singer-songwriter showcase at Broward Center for the Performing Arts.  It’s a song about our unwieldy hearts.  Click here on USTREAM at 6 p.m. to watch Giraud’s interview with her today. I know it’s late notice, but it’s not like you have to primp for this, or even leave the house, and if you don’t see it live, you can catch it later.

Meanwhile, the release party for Hello, Yves Giraud’s new release on Forward Motion Records, will start 10 p.m. Tuesday at Bardot in Miami. To learn more about the album, check out my recent Q&A with Giraud about his CD Hello.
