Our latest Take 5 brings us clowns on a bed rolling through the streets of Wynwood, a band exploring pockets and a singer who advises her audience to take their clothes off and roll around on the floor if they want to hear two more songs.
1. Clowns and mimes rule in the just-released video for Sol Ruiz’s “Free Love,” a song from her 2009 CD Outlander. The video, directed by Jonathan Kane, has Ruiz and her colorful crew rolling down the streets of 
Wynwood on a bed attached to the back of a truck with a crew she describes as “an array of filthy crazy Miami characters, Mardi Gras dancers, clowns, public figures, Lance-O from Kulcha Shok Muzic … Chicks in Trash Bags and everyone in bed surfing through the streets of Wynwood with ‘Free Love’ blasting through the system.” Ruiz (pictured here) calls the video, which is chock full of crazy shenanigans, Miami at its finest. “We even had a flat tire at one point and had to stop at a mechanic to give us a plug. Meanwhile, everyone was crowding around the truck on the streets and singing along, dancing and acting a fool. Magical!”
2. Here’s a video of Jacob Jeffries Band performing with Jack, a guest 14-year-old guitar player at Central Square Record Shop in the Florida Panhandle, then hanging at the beach, hitting Dawson’s Yogurt, where a sing-along and other antics ensued.
3. Komakozie was captured on video beatboxing at a recent WeMerge Wednesday at Stage 84 in Davie. To watch the video is to understand why Komakozie might need a nice cup of tea, something soothing on the throat, after a performance, or maybe just a cold beer.
4. Maitejosune Urrechaga and Tony Kapel of Pocket of Lollipops performing at MT Pockets, their recent art and music show about pockets, at Swampspace Gallery in Miami.
5. Gingerman 309 shot this video of Kill Miss Pretty performing Judy Garland last month at Rockitcon Musicians Conference in Kissimmee. It was apparently their final song of the night. Actually, singer Alicia Olink promised they would play two more but only if everyone watching took off all of their clothes and rolled around on the floor.
